Community Projects & Initiatives
Chil’Lit Literacy Initiative
Project Leader in Chil’lit, and initiative to increase children’s literacy by giving books to disadvantaged children. During covid we gave away 3835 books to Cradles to Crayons and 400 to Hawaii Literacy. Recently in 2023, we gave away 2,400 books to public schools in Michigan. We are actively trying to find partners to help us distribute 10,000 more books.
Impact of Covid-19 on Hawaii’s Women Owned Businesses
Created a photo-journal documenting the plight of female owned businesses in Hawaii which were disproportionately disadvantaged by the state’s reopening tiered system which classified many as non-essentials. Process included live/zoom interviews with over 80 female business leaders.
